You will need chicken to make chicken tacos. Specifically, you will want to use boneless, skinless chicken breasts. That will make it easier to shred the chicken after you’ve cooked it.

You will also need chicken broth to make sure the chicken stays nice and juicy as it cooks. Then, use garlic powder, oregano, and onion powder to add flavor to the meat. But the inside of a taco is not all you need to worry about.

You also need to consider what you will be adding on top of your taco. Technically, this is still filling but it is the spot for more customization. The toppings are totally up to you.

This isn’t a diet recipe either, which means the toppings can get a little crazy. Be sure to go with what you love and remember, there is no added fee for extra guac or sour cream.

Place all ingredients into your crockpot and cook on low for approximately 5 1/2 hours or on high for approximately 3 1/2 hours. If the chicken is frozen you will need to add cooking time.

When the chicken is done cooking, shred the chicken with a fork. This shredded chicken can be used on tacos or in salads. You can serve it cold or warm.

Top with tomatoes and taco toppings of your choice.  Shredded cheese is an optional topping for those that are not on a dairy-free diet as is topping with sour cream.

  • 2 Lbs Chicken Breast, Boneless and Skinless Organic Chicken
  • 1 1/4 Cups Organic Chicken Broth
  • 1 Tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 Tsp Oregano
  • 1/2 Tsp Onion Powder
  • Salt and Pepper to Taste

Instructions

  • Place all ingredients into your crockpot and cook on low for approximately 5 1/2 hours or on high for approximately 3 1/2 hours. If the chicken is frozen you will need to add cooking time.
  • When the chicken is done cooking, shred the chicken with a fork. This shredded chicken can be used on tacos or in salads. You can serve it cold or warm.
