Crockpot Pork Chops with Cream of Mushroom Soup Recipe
Pork is an interesting cut of meat. You must make sure pork is cooked through, similar to chicken but very different than beef. Still, getting that perfect cook without drying it out can be challenging. But that challenge goes away when you use a crockpot pork chops with cream of mushroom soup recipe.
The best crockpot pork chops with cream of mushroom soup recipe can help you make sure you get the perfect cook every time. There is no need to go into the reasons why pork needs to be cooked properly.
But the challenge of getting that perfect cook is not always easy. There is a fine line between perfectly cooked and dried-out pork chops. But crockpots can really make a difference. The trick is going to be in how you cook the pork chops.
This crockpot pork chops with cream of mushroom soup recipe will have all the steps you need to get the job done. But there are still more benefits to this recipe. For example, it is delicious!
The cream of mushroom soup becomes like gravy, and the pork chops stay nice and juicy. But simply boiling pork chops in soup won’t get you that crispy outer layer. That means there will be an extra step, but it is still an extremely easy recipe, and the results are well worth the effort.
Browning Pork Chops
There is nothing wrong with some recipes that tell you to put raw meat in a crockpot and start the process. However, there are times when searing the meat first is the better option.
This recipe is one of those recipes. You aren’t looking to cook the meat, which is a plus thoroughly. Instead, you just want to caramelize the outside of the meat and get a nice sear on it before putting it into the crockpot.
This serves multiple purposes, depending on the meat. For example, you would want to do this with ground beef because you will be able to ensure the meat doesn’t clump up too much.
But also, you will be able to lose a lot of that grease, which could ruin a recipe. We want to do this here because we don’t want the meat to get soggy, and we want that nice, caramelized flavor to come through the final dish.
Crockpot Pork Chops with Cream of Mushroom Soup Recipe
The dish’s star will arguably be the cream of mushroom soup, but of course, the pork chops are a close second. The only thing to ensure is that you get the thick-cut pork chops. Besides that, the rest of the ingredients are quite small.
The seasonings are especially important as well. These will help with browning the meat and giving it a great flavor. You will need onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, and dried parsley.
This recipe also has cream of chicken soup, sliced mushrooms, beef broth, and baby red potatoes. The result will be a fantastic dish that the whole family can enjoy.
Crockpot Pork Chops with Cream of Mushroom Soup Recipe Directions
Preheat olive oil in a Cast Iron pan or large fry pan over medium to high heat. Season both sides of the pork chops with salt & pepper, paprika, onion & garlic powder. Place the pork chops in a pan and brown (sear) on both sides—about 3 to 4 minutes on each side.
Remove pork chops from the pan, set aside, and turn the heat to low/medium.
Add beef broth and both soups to the pan and whisk to release any brown bits from the bottom of the pan. Add dried parsley and stir to combine.
Put onions, mushrooms & potatoes on the bottom of the crockpot. Place pork chops over the onions, mushrooms & potatoes, and then pour the soup mixture evenly over the top.
Turn the slow cooker to high and cook for approximately 4 to 5 hours or low for 7 to 8 hours. Be sure and cook pork to the recommended temperature of 145 F to 160 F.
Enjoy!
